About this tool
For PDFs you can already open but would rather not be prompted for every time. You supply the password, the document is decrypted with it, and you get back a copy with the protection removed. This decrypts nothing you do not already have access to: a wrong password is refused, and a password you have lost cannot be recovered here or anywhere.

- Is my file uploaded for this tool?
- Yes. Unlike the tools marked Private, this one sends your file to an ilovspdfs server over HTTPS, processes it in memory, and streams the result straight back as the response. Nothing is written to disk, nothing is logged about the contents, and nothing remains once the response has been sent.
- Can this recover a password I've forgotten?
- No. You must supply the correct password. This tool removes protection you can already get past; it does not break encryption, and nothing on the market genuinely does for AES-256.
- What about PDFs that open but will not let me print or copy?
- Those carry an owner password with permission limits. If you know that password, this removes the limits along with it. If you only know the password that opens the file, the limits stay.
- Why does this tool need a Pro subscription?
- Because it runs on hardware we pay for. Everything that runs in your own browser stays free with no account, at any file size. The cloud tools are the few jobs a browser tab genuinely cannot do, and Pro is what pays for the machines that do them.
